Some time ago I introduced you two lightweight and yet fast PDF readers, namely Cool PDF Reader and Foxit Reader. Both are free and much smaller and faster to use compared to Adobe Reader.
Today, let me introduce you to Sumatra PDF, which is also a very simple but slim, free, and open-source PDF viewer/reader for Windows. Of course, features wise it can’t compare to Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader, but if all you wanted to do is quickly read a PDF file, this is the program for you. In fact, 99% of the time you do not need all the fat in Adobe Reader.
Sumatra PDF is so small that you can fit it and run from a pendrive! This is because it consist of just one file with no external dependencies. Now, compare this to Adobe Reader – how big is the setup file… I totally lost count already, perhaps not smaller than 80MB?
